Well, we’re a couple of weeks into April and I thought I’d just give you all a quick rundown on what’s been happening!
One: The good news is, I’m writing (a bit) and I’m back contributing to The AU Review (a bit)! I have, like, IDEAS again and it’s WILD.
Two: Laura and I are currently two prompts into the Long Distance Creationship reboot. I’m not overly enamoured with the pieces I’ve created so far, but the point of LDC is to just GET SHIT DONE so in that respect I’m definitely succeeding!
Three: NaNoWriMo is well underway and I’m almost a third of the way to my 10,000 word goal. I know it’s not a massive goal (and I’ve certainly not been keeping to my promise of writing every day, whoops) but it’s nice just to sit down and bash out a few hundred words every now and again.
Four: I’ve slowly been updating older reviews – I made some changes to my style guide, and I’ve been adding my Ko-fi link to each page. Y’know, just in case you like what you see!
Five: I’ve discovered that filming stuff is HARD. After a failed (and rather stressful morning) trying to put something together for my first YouTube video, I found that having vague idea of what I want to talk about it probably isn’t ideal. Who knew? So I’ve made it a goal for this week to actually draft up a proper script/plan.
Six: Reading wise, I finished N.K. Jemisin’s The City We Became last week. It is simply BRILLIANT. I’ll be reviewing it for The AU Review soon, so keep an eye out for that!
Seven: And, finally, in non-blog-content related news, isolation has really done a number on my routine. And after speaking to a few friends (and scrolling through Twitter), I know I’m not the only one! I think it’s time I cracked out some of my trusty time management apps and stopped going to bed at 4am. Starting tomorrow, obviously, because I’ve got a Final Destination marathon planned for tonight…
And that’s pretty much where I’m up to – minus the house that needs cleaning and the clothes that need putting away and the dog that needs walking and the washing up that needs doing and God, I need a nap just thinking about it!
What are your plans for the rest of the week? Let me know below!
