Is it weird to anyone else that we’re not heading to the cinema this weekend to see the latest Marvel movie? And not just because cinemas are closed, but because there is NO MARVEL MOVIE THIS YEAR???
Anyway – not the point of this post!
The real reason I’m posting today is because I’ve decided – last minute, of course – to take part in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon!
The goal is fairly simple: read as much as you can over the following 24 hours.
It all kicks off on Saturday April 25th, at 10pm Brisbane time. I’ll be midway through a Zoom party around then, so I’m not expecting to start reading until midnight, but I do plan on staying up for the full length of time and switching out Netflix and phone time for books, books, and more books!
My reading list is as follows:
- The Whole Picture by Alice Procter
- The Octopus and I by Erin Hortle
- Cold Fear by Mads Peder Nordbo
- As You Wish by Cary Elwes
- 18 Tiny Deaths by Bruce Goldfarb
My goal is to at least get through the first three, and use the fiction books (and the Cary Elwes, which is a lighter non-fiction) to balance things out when/if the non-fiction gets a bit heavy.
I’ve also got an eye on The Trial of Apollo series by Rick Riordan, just in case reading grown up books gets to be too much!
And that’s kinda it, really.
If you’re taking part too, please let me know and we can cheer each other on! I’ll be posting my progress on Instagram and I’ll also do a wrap up post on Monday!
