I guess the good news is that today you get a pretty massive post, as I pull together the reviews from my Anywhere Fest experience.

Ready? LET’S GO!

I'll be honest, I think Upstairs still needs a bit of a tidy up (I'm actually thinking it must way better at night, with all the lights and the whole funfair vibe) BUT it'll be amazing when all the other shops open - and it's seriously cool as fuck that it's in Toombul 💖 #brisbaneanyday #upstairstoombul
It's beginning to look at lot like #Christmas! #adventcalendar #funko #funkopop #minipop #popvinyl #marvel

Started reading this on the plane home back in October - I think it's time to get stuck back in! I love historical non-fiction - do you read it too? Synopsis: By spring 1645, two years of civil war had exacted a dreadful toll upon England. People lived in terror as disease and poverty spread, and the nation grew ever more politically divided. In a remote corner of Essex, two obscure gentlemen, Matthew Hopkins and John Stearne, exploited the anxiety and lawlessness of the time and initiated a brutal campaign to drive out the presumed evil in their midst. Touring Suffolk and East Anglia on horseback, they detected demons and idolators everywhere. Through torture, they extracted from terrified prisoners confessions of consorting with Satan and demonic spirits. Acclaimed historian Malcolm Gaskill retells the chilling story of the most savage witch hunt in English history. By the autumn of 1647 at least 250 people—mostly women—had been captured, interrogated, and hauled before the courts. More than a hundred were hanged, causing Hopkins to be dubbed “Witchfinder General” by critics and admirers alike. Though their campaign was never legally sanctioned, they garnered the popular support of local gentry, clergy, and villagers. While Witchfinders tells of a unique and tragic historical moment fueled by religious fervor, today it serves as a reminder of the power of fear and fanaticism to fuel ordinary people’s willingness to demonize others. #bookstagram #witchfinders #britishhistory #currentlyreading #malcolmgaskill
I've gone a good four weeks without work and while the bank account still looks okay and my joints are loving the break, it's been rough on my mental health. Thank goodness for books, hey? Currently polishing off the #Magnus Chase series, with The Ship of the Dead! What are you currently reading? #currentlyreading #theshipofthedead #rickriordan #bookstagram
Oh @alisonwritesthings, I'm so EXCITED for this! The synopsis makes my heart go pitter patter 😍 #bookstagram #bookworm #alisonevans #euphoriakids #arc #queerya #loveozya Ever since the witch cursed Babs, she turns invisible sometimes. She has her mum and her dog, but teachers and classmates barely notice her. Then, one day, Iris can see her. And Iris likes what they see. Babs is made of fire. Iris grew from a seed in the ground. They have friends, but not human ones. Not until they meet Babs. The two of them have a lot in common: they speak to dryads and faeries, and they're connected to the magic that's all around them. There's a new boy at school, a boy who's like them and who hasn't yet found his real name. Soon the three of them are hanging out and trying spellwork together. Magic can be dangerous, though. Witches and fae can be cruel. Something is happening in the other realm, and despite being warned to stay away, the three friends have to figure out how to deal with it on their own terms.
Bagged myself an early copy of @mariavsnyderwrites's Chasing The Shadows and I could not be more excited to get stuck into Lyra's next adventure! I'm kinda thinking about starting a YouTube channel (weird accent and all) - any tips and tricks from those of you who've done it? #bookstagram #Bookmail #mariavsnyder #chasingtheshadows #sentinelsofthegalaxy #navigatingthestars #yascifi
